The Government Grant Compliance Manager manages the day-to-day administration of The Source's government grant compliance program. The position is responsible for coordinating compliance activities, monitoring adherence to grant requirements, maintaining documentation, supporting internal controls, developing staff training, and recommending corrective actions while elevating significant compliance risks to leadership. This position supports compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), HHSC requirements, and other applicable federal, state, and local grant requirements.

Qualifications:   

  • Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, public administration, accounting, healthcare administration, or related field required; Master’s preferred.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in government grant compliance, administration, or audit.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), state agency contracts (e.g., HHSC), and monitoring/audit processes, including multi-year program grants such as Texas Thriving Families (TTF) and SRAE, a plus.
  • Ability to interpret and operationalize federal and state regulations.
  • Strong research, data management, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with strong project management capabilities.
  • Collaborative leadership style with ability to work cross-functionally. 

Principal functions:  

  • Serve as the primary operational resource for government grant compliance requirements and provide guidance on compliance processes.
  • Manage the day-to-day implementation of grant compliance systems, policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Coordinate internal monitoring, file reviews, and compliance audits.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor corrective action plans and elevate unresolved or high-risk issues. 
  • Coordinate organizational readiness for monitoring visits, audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Collaborate with Finance to support compliant reimbursement requests, cost allocation, and allowable costs.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and recommend operational improvements.
  • Develop compliance training and educational resources.
  • Provide compliance dashboards, reports, and risk updates to leadership.

Decision-Making Authority:  

  • Manages day-to-day grant compliance operations.
  • Recommends compliance improvements and corrective actions.
  • Escalates significant compliance risks, regulatory interpretations, and communications with funding agencies.
  • Does not independently commit the organization to regulatory interpretations or responses to funding agencies unless specifically authorized.

Essential Job Functions
