This position will support our Community Health Services (CHS) Division and Division of Environmental Health and Engineering (DEHE). Remote, On Site, and Hybrid Work Schedules available.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accountant with a strong focus on grant accounting and Uniform Guidance (UG) compliance to join our team. The ideal candidate will work closely with program staff and various departments across the organization to ensure accurate financial tracking, reporting, and compliance related to grants. This role requires a proactive approach to managing grant budgets, preparing financial reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting audits to uphold regulatory standards.

Summary:
This position safeguards ANTHC’s assets through monthly accounting operations and internal controls, and ensures accurate and compliant financial reporting. Typically, this position performs work under limited supervision on routine and complex accounting duties related to job cost accounting, fixed assets and depreciation, audit preparation, general ledger account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, deferred revenue, allocation funding, vendor research, payroll, journal entry preparation and documentation, grants and restricted revenue, accounts receivable and/or accounts payable.
Responsibilities:
Supports the safeguarding of assets and reinforces accounting policies and procedures.
Prepares journal entries and reviews accounting classification in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Reviews expenses for capital purchases and posts depreciation.
Reconciles, analyzes and reviews complex revenues, expenses and balance sheet accounts. Updates, reviews, reconciles and manages various accounts, balance sheets, general ledgers, statements and spreadsheets.
Assists in the month-end close, including the review of financial statements. Reviews coding accuracy for assigned accounts. Identifies and reconciles account discrepancies.
Assists with audit preparation, including the preparation of audit schedules (annual financial audit, Medicare cost report, and various payroll related audits).
Provides accounting support to internal and external customers. Acts as an accounting technical resource to others.
Develops an expertise in accounting software and acts as a technical resource. May assist in the development and delivery of training to less-experienced staff. May be assigned to work groups or teams to develop solutions with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) team. Assists in testing of new system modules and upgrades.
Complies with the regulatory standards, policies and procedures of accounting. Performs representative duties for assigned business areas. Produces and processes invoices and receivables.
Generates complex ad-hoc accounting reports as needed.
Accountable for timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks.
May have responsibility for coordinating and reviewing accounting work of others.
Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or progressively responsible professional work-related experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION
Non-Supervisory – Five (5) years of applicable professional experience.
