Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a highly skilled Senior Contracting Specialist with experience in contract development, competitive bidding, negotiations, and federal grant compliance, to join our Supply Chain Procurement team. This position plays a critical role ensuring Idaho Power’s major projects – including those funded by federal grants – are produces, executed, and administered in full compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Build America, Buy America (BABA), Davis-Bacon and Related Acts (DBRA), and federal supplier verification standards (SAM.gov).This position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location. We offer employees both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote after a period of demonstrated proficiency in their role.
What does a Senior Contracting Specialist do for us?
The Senior Contracting Specialist works independently and with minimal guidance to lead stakeholders in the development of internal customer materials and service contracts of significant risk and/or complexity. They lead the competitive bidding process, negotiations, and prepare comprehensive contract documents. The Senior Contracting Agent will meet business unit cost objectives with a focus on delivering the best value to Idaho Power.
In addition to supporting Idaho Power’s traditional contracting activities, this position also serves as Supply Chain’s primary subject matter expert for government-funded contracts, requiring independent judgement when interpreting requirements, supporting internal customers, and ensuring full lifecycle compliance with:
