The Wyoming Nonpoint Source Program plays a vital leadership role in protecting and restoring Wyoming’s water resources by supporting innovative, locally led solutions to reduce pollution in lakes and streams.  The program advances meaningful water quality improvements by providing targeted technical and financial assistance and fulfilling state responsibilities under the Clean Water Act. This position oversees federal Clean Water Act Section 319 and 604(b)/205(j) grant funds to reduce pollution from runoff and other nonpoint sources and manages the full lifecycle of funded projects. Responsibilities include:

  • Grant administration activities, including applying for grants, reporting, budgeting, tracking funds, and coordinating with grant subrecipients for specific projects.
  • Issuing Requests for Proposals and conducting an evaluation process to select proposals for funding in collaboration with a Governor’s appointed the Nonpoint Source Task Force.
  • Managing project implementation, including issuing cooperative agreements, training project sponsors, reviewing reimbursement requests, tracking project progress, obtaining required reports, and tracking project/grant budgets.
  • Providing project oversight, assisting with project management, updating databases, and coordinating with internal staff to support project implementation.
  • Coordinating with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency routinely on grants administration and reviewing federal regulations and guidance to ensure program compliance.
