About ProcurementExpress

ProcurementExpress is AI-powered audit readiness software for federally funded organizations (nonprofits, local governments, higher education institutions, and tribal entities). Our platform updates compliance rules daily from the latest CFR, helping 764+ organizations manage $3B+ in funding with zero audit failures.

Our Mission: Transform audit preparation from 3 weeks of manual work to 4 hours of automated readiness.

Position Overview

We're seeking an experienced B2B/SaaS copywriter to create educational resource guides for grant compliance professionals. These guides will serve as lead magnets, SEO content, and trust-building assets for finance directors and compliance officers managing federal grants.

Project Duration: 4 guides initially, with potential for ongoing content partnership

What You'll Write

Resource Guides (4 initial pieces):

1. Complete Guide to 2 CFR 200 Procurement Standards (15-minute read, ~3,500 words)
   - Federal procurement requirements and thresholds
   - Micro-purchases, simplified acquisition, sealed bidding
   - Best practices and common pitfalls

2. Single Audit Preparation Checklist (10-minute read, ~2,500 words)
   - Step-by-step preparation for organizations approaching $750K federal funding
   - Documentation requirements
   - Timeline and submission process

3. Budget Management for Multi-Grant Organizations (12-minute read, ~3,000 words)
   - Tracking spending across federal, state, and foundation funding
   - Cost allocation strategies
   - Budget vs. actual monitoring

4. Vendor Verification & SAM.gov Compliance (8-minute read, ~2,000 words)
   - How to verify suppliers aren't debarred
   - SAM.gov registration and search process
   - Maintaining compliant vendor relationships

## Target Audience

You'll be writing for five distinct segments:

1. Audit-Weary Organizations - Have received findings in previous audits, need to prevent recurrence
2. Multi-Source Funded - Manage federal + state + foundation grants simultaneously
3. Single Audit Triggers - Just hit $1M federal funding threshold, facing first Single Audit
4. Lean Finance Teams - 2-3 person finance departments, resource-constrained
5. Volatile Funding - Concerned about regulatory changes and Executive Orders

Common reader profile:
- Finance Director, Grants Manager, or Executive Director at a nonprofit/government entity
- Managing compliance without dedicated compliance staff
- Stressed about audit findings and questioned costs
- Looking for practical, actionable guidance
- May not have formal accounting background

Writing Requirements

Style & Tone
- Professional but approachable - You're a trusted advisor, not a textbook
- Benefit-focused - Emphasize "how this helps you" over "what this is"
- Confidence-building - Readers are often overwhelmed; guide them step-by-step
- Conversational clarity - Technical topics explained simply

Technical Specifications
- Reading Level: 5th-7th grade (Hemingway score 6-7)
- Sentence Structure: Short sentences and paragraphs
- Voice: Active voice throughout
- Jargon: Only use industry-standard terms (2 CFR 200, Single Audit, SAM.gov)
- Numbers: Specific and concrete ("$10,000 threshold" not "low amounts")

Content Structure
- Scannable: Use headers, bullet points, numbered lists
- Actionable: Every section should have clear takeaways
- Example-driven: Include real-world scenarios and common situations
- SEO-optimized: Natural keyword integration (we'll provide target keywords)

Brand Voice Guidelines
- Use customer language: "contracts" for government funding, "grants" for foundation funding
- Include specific proof points: "764+ organizations", "$85,000 average savings", "Zero overruns"
- Avoid: Hyperbole, vague claims, marketing fluff
- Embrace: Data, specificity, practical advice
