The College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) at Augusta University invites applications for a Grant Development Specialist.The College of Science and Mathematics, located on the Health Science Campus alongside a top-ranked medical school, is home to faculty that are world-class researchers in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. Our college faculty and staff collaborate to provide excellent and growing support across the different disciplines.This new position will be located on campus and be responsible for assisting investigators with grant applications, particularly in ensuring adherence to agency guidelines, as well as supporting investigators with grant applications that span various departments within CSM and collaborative projects across the university and contracted entities.Other responsibilities include pre- and post-award tasks done with the CSM Research Team and the university's Division of Sponsored Programs Administration (DSPA).The required skills are to work independently on assigned proposals and awards, but work as part of a team of investigators and distributed research administrators to support common grant production goals.A strong candidate must also have good written and interpersonal abilities, excellent time management and problem-solving skills, and general proficiency in administrative budgets, purchasing, travel, and reconciliation.
Qualifications:
Candidates should have a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, auditing, public administration, or closely related field.Candidates must also have two years of experience in proposal submission or grant management activities in the pursuit or management of private, local, state, or federal grants or contracts.This should include demonstrated crafting of proposals in response to competitive solicitations that were awarded funding, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
