The Senior Grants Management Specialist (SGMS) will work with clients to provide post award grants management services, compliance, preparation of contracts, billing, reimbursement requests, and reporting. Additionally, the SGMS will be expected to assist with any other related special projects as needed.
The SGMS works both independently and with the team to develop, analyze, and prepare periodic monthly financial reports for prompt distribution to clients. That work includes reviewing and validating client contracts, invoices, payroll and other financial records. As requested, the SGMS will also assist with budget preparation and/or amendments.
A Senior Grants Management Specialist is expected to become proficient in the technologies utilized by KJA to report and track client information, manage projects and workflow, and communicate with internal and external stakeholders. SGMS must keep organized workflows to ensure no deadlines are missed. All work produced must meet the KJA standards of excellence, accuracy, and timeliness. All project records and reports must be kept organized and well maintained. To succeed as a Grants Management Specialist, you must be well-organized and prioritize your work to meet all deadlines.

Have a strong understanding of 2 CFR 200 Compliance Standards and strictly adhere to the NGMA Code of Ethics.

In-depth understanding of policy and compliance guidance for federal, state, local, private, or other grant programs.

Knowledge of computer programs, software, and online federal government grants management systems.

Strong knowledge of online government grant application portals.

Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Experience with multiple technology and software platforms, including, Microsoft 365, Teams, Dropbox, Google Docs
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, accounting, project management or related field.
- 5+ years of industry experience working with federal grant programs including related statutes, regulations, policies, and processes.
- Experience in grant-writing, grants managements, budgets, and contracts.
