Position Summary Akela is seeking a Senior Consultant – Compliance to provide expert support to federal government clients in navigating complex regulatory frameworks. This role involves developing and implementing compliance strategies, ensuring adherence to federal regulations, and mitigating compliance risks. The Senior Consultant will be instrumental in helping our clients achieve compliance excellence while aligning with governmental standards and regulations. This position will primarily support a federal civilian agency managing loan, grant, and financial aid programs, with opportunities to contribute to Akela's growth as a premier consulting firm. The role is hybrid, with occasional in-person meetings for client or team needs.

Qualifications 

  • US Citizen
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-8 years of experience in federal government compliance consulting, regulatory compliance, or related fields. 
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or other compliance-related certifications are desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Understanding of federal laws and regulations, OMB Circulars, and other guidance.
