The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) is seeking a full-time Grants & Program Manager. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day management of GHSA’s federal and private sector grant programs and the development, execution, and monitoring of Consultant Service Initiative (CSI) contracts. Duties include:
- Managing the day-to-day administrative tasks and record-keeping of GHSA’s federal and private-sector grant programs. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Managing the grant application process, including working with GHSA staff and funders to develop the grant announcement and application, conducting outreach to the State Highway Safety Offices to promote the opportunity, and coordinating the applicant selection process and providing input on the applicants.
- Developing and monitoring timelines to ensure all deliverables are completed on time and within scope and budget.
- Working with the Finance staff to ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of all grant applications and other administrative paperwork.
- Monitoring staff hours for each project to ensure adherence with the budget.
- Monitoring grant performance through GHSA’s reporting portal and via regular, consistent outreach to the SHSOs and their partners.
- Monitoring Federal grant deliverables to ensure all deadlines are met, as needed.
- Compiling and disseminating strategic status reports for Senior GHSA staff and funders.
- Monitoring grant budgets, tracking expenditures and identifying and mitigating risk.
- Working with the Communications staff to announce grant recipients and develop website content that showcases grant impact.
- Managing Consultant Service Initiative (CSI) contracts. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Working with the Senior Director of External Engagement and Chief Financial Officer to develop and disseminate consultant and SHSO contracts for review and execution.
- Reviewing consultant invoices for accuracy and adherence to budget.
- Assisting with the development of proposals and outreach to the state highway safety offices.
- Managing speakers and content for program-related webinars and events, and moderating, as needed.
- Providing back-up to the Programs and Member Services Director, as needed.
- Promoting GHSA Annual Meeting sponsorship and/or exhibiting opportunities to partners.
- Other duties as assigned aligned within the objectives of GHSA.
Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and 3 - 5 years of applicable experience. Experience working in a nonprofit or an association is desirable. The position requires up to 5% travel.
GHSA represents the state and territorial highway safety offices that implement programs to address behavioral and highway safety issues, including occupant protection, impaired driving and speeding. GHSA provides leadership and advocacy for the States and Territories to improve traffic safety, influence national policy, enhance program management, and promote best practices.
