JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, this role drives grant research, acquisition, and management. Collaborating with District departments, external organizations, consultants, and government agencies, the position ensures timely submittal and high-quality management of grants. This position monitors funding opportunities, ensures compliance, and supports District goals and objectives, in addition to performing related duties as assigned.

Under general direction, this role requires a broad range of administrative and analytical skills to support the strategic goals and projects of the District. This position involves time-sensitive grant program coordination, demanding independent judgment and strategic problem-solving. Tasks are varied and complex, requiring self-directed goal-setting and planning. Work is reviewed for accuracy and adherence to policy and requirements.

Education, Training and Experience:
Any combination of education and/or experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major coursework in business, public administration, communication, environmental or earth sciences, engineering, or a related field and at least two (2) years of progressively responsible experience performing analysis and research in grant acquisition and compliance; demonstrated ability in grant writing.
Experience in water and wastewater in a public utility is desirable.
Special Requirements
Possession of or ability to obtain a Class “C” California driver’s license and the ability to maintain insurability under the District’s vehicle insurance program.
