Hampden-Sydney College is accepting applications for a Manager of College Grants.  Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Grants and Faculty Development, the Manager of College Grants assists faculty and staff with pre-award and post-award management of sponsored projects, including prospect research, proposal development, award compliance, budget tracking and disbursement, recordkeeping, reporting, and project closeout. The position also works closely with the Controller and Assistant Controller to track award spending and compliance. The position is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to each stage of a grant cycle.   

Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree is required. Previous budgeting and project management experience is preferred; however, training will be provided for candidates who do not have this experience but are interested in the field. An ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and the ability to read and interpret complex instructions and policies.

The ideal candidate will not only communicate clearly but also possess strong interpersonal skills. Because the grant manager will work with multiple people, often simultaneously, across the College, the ideal candidate will know how to navigate conversations ​professionally and efficiently.
