Job Description:

The Title II Literacy Grant Success Coach is responsible for supporting the non-credit academic and workplace success of students participating in the Title II Literacy Grant.

Essential Duties:

Entering grant data into the LACES software.

Assist in preparing required reporting documents.

Planning of participant/employer orientation sessions to inform potential job applicants about the career pathways.

Development and monitoring of career exploration activities related to the healthcare industry and other entry-level jobs in occupations served by employees who have either a certificate in ECG or an OSHA 10 card.

Maintenance of all program-related files and documentation related to participant outreach, placement, completion, and wages.

Establishment and maintenance of an organized and confidential data information management system.

Build positive and proactive relationships with key College and community stakeholders.

Assist in research related to current job demand and interpreting job descriptions to determine suitability.

Interact with current and prospective students regarding course offerings and assessment schedules; collaborate with community-based partners regarding employment initiatives.

Participation in staff meetings, in-service training, staff development meetings and meetings as needed with community partners.

Serve as a liaison to other areas within the College and outside agencies as needed to support students' goals towards employment.

Collaborate with the Director of Grants to ensure grant compliance.

Coordinate and schedule all pre and post testing for students.

Conduct class scheduling using assessment and placement data.

Facilitate laptop-loaner program for students in need.

Facilitate instructor timesheet reporting.

Collect bi-weekly time and effort reports.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree and/or related experience in Education, Human Services, Vocation Rehabilitation, ESL Administration, Adult Education.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in advising/counseling, career placement; previous experience in basic skills acquisition field.
  • Business acumen and knowledge of current labor market demands and trends in various industry clusters.
  • Excellent customer service and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission.
  • Possesses an understanding of the uses of information technology to deliver, monitor and evaluate programs and services for students and the ability to work collaboratively across various constituencies of the College.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and must be detail-oriented.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and transportation, and ability to work a varied schedule, including the Ability and willingness to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
  • Exhibits strong skills in: leadership, managing people, communication, customer and student focus, building relationships, organizing, and planning.
