This position is located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Audit, Assessment, and Management (OAAM), Grants Management and Policy Division (GMPC), Grants Policy and Procedures Branch. Duties include:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on broad grant and/or cooperative agreement-related projects and programs with impact on major agency programs.
  • Serve as expert leader in area of grants management for major programs involving programs or services of vital national importance.
  • Conduct long- and short-range strategic planning to develop or refine grants management policies, methods, and operational approaches as needed in order to implement new or unprecedented grants management activities/functions.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, partners, and stakeholders to assess needs, develop strategies, short- and long-range program goals, and detailed plans for implementation, and oversee successful implementation.
  • Analyze data related to OJP's grants management policies, procedures, and processes, identifies areas of deviation, and suggests solutions to improve compliance with established guidelines; evaluates and interprets program legislation, requirements, and related guidance to propose and refine grants management policies, methods, and practices, aiming to improve the oversight and administration grants programs.
  • Lead project teams to define strategic plans and design specific business development programs and projects.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and provides grant related guidance and expertise to multi-functional teams engaged in the development of DOJ grants management information technology (IT) solutions.
  • Participate in the iterative development, testing, and delivery of the versions of working software with the intent to support the broad scope and demanding timeline of an operational system.
