Grants Compliance Coordinator

Primary Purpose:
Provide complex grant management support to campuses and departments during the implementation of grant-funded programming to ensure programmatic and financial activities are executed in accordance with all applicable guidelines, regulations, and policies in order to maintain a culture of compliance, accountability, and audit ready status for the organization.  
 
Education/Certification:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS) credential preferred.  

Special Knowledge/Skills:  

  • Experience in establishing and carrying out programmatic and fiscal grant tracking and monitoring activities.
  • Ability to interpret guidelines, policies, procedures, and regulations, including Uniform Grant Guidance (2 CFR 200).
  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite as well as online, collaborative software (i.e., Google Suite, Microsoft Online, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of database/grant tracking software preferred.     

 Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in oversite and coordination of grant-funded programs, including local, state, and federal grants.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in public education preferred.

 Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide implementation, oversight, and compliance support for local, state, federal, and foundation grants. 
  2. Review and analyze grant documentation (grant guidelines, grant applications, notice of award, memorandum of understanding, contracts, etc.) to determine grant implementation requirements, limitations, and assurances. 
  3. Support campuses and departments during the post award and grant implementation process, including but not limited to:
    • Conduct grant orientation meetings.
    • Assist the campuses and departments in creating/developing and implementing tracking programs and processes.
    • Support campuses and departments in problem solving grant-funded program issues and collecting data.
    • Provide training and resources to the grant project directors, as needed.
    • Support campuses and departments with grant-required reporting.
    • Conduct frequent desk reviews/audits and site visits. 
  4. Provide budgetary support to campuses and departments for grant programs (i.e., monitoring spending, approving grant expenditures, assisting with budget adjustments, and other support as required). 
  5. Contribute to the maintenance of grant files, program files, and internal reporting systems. 
  6. Attend campus events, award check presentations, and celebrations that highlight grant-funded projects written by the Grants Department, as necessary. 
  7. Perform designated tasks outlined in the most up-to-date Grants Department Procedures Manual. 
  8. Other duties as assigned.

 Working Conditions:

  • Mental Demands - Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate districts functions.

 Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

  • Regular district-wide travel to various locations; repetitive hand motions working with the computer/keyboard, calculator, and telephone interaction; prolonged sitting, frequent interruptions, moderate standing, walking, and bending.
