The Ohio Department of Development has an exciting opportunity for an experienced grants manager to join its team. This position will be the centralized grants resource for the Department, embedded within the Finance Office. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned grants management expert, responsible for helping to develop and share best practices for setting up grant funded projects, communicating with grantees, coordinating monitoring plans including grantee self reporting and site visits, interpreting allowable and unallowable costs, and more. This position will also be responsible for collaborating with the fiscal team and the program team to ensure all reporting requirements have been met.

Some of the duties this position will perform: 

  • Assists in the development of applications and review process for awards.
  • Reviews project application and scoring process, and makes recommendations regarding best practice for grants management.
  • Tracks spending and maintains documentation for reporting.
  • Manages fiscal aspects of grants, establishes cost controls, develops accounting systems and assists with the preparation of budgets.
  • Coordinates preparation and submission of required state and/or federal fiscal reports.
  • Coordinates documentation for audits.
  • Develops and implements grant policies, procedures, and standards with continuing review to ensure improvement.

Minimum Qualifications:      

Completion of graduate core program in:

  • Public or Business Administration
  • Accounting
  • Finance, or related field; with 18 months experience or 18 months training in financial administration or grants management

-Or completion of undergraduate core program in:

  • Public or Business Administration
  • Accounting
  • Finance, or related field; with 30 months experience or 30 months training in financial administration or grants management.

-Or 54 months experience or 54 months training in financial administration.

  • Federal &/or State grant administration experience preferred

 

This position is required to work in the office Monday-Friday with flexibility in starting and ending times. The job is located in the Vern Riffe building, 77 South High St. Columbus, OH 43215
